Time is closing in quickly on mine and Cameron’s Marine Corps indoc.
We’re less than 16 days away, and I wanted to give a quick update and answer a few questions about this adventure.
Where does the Marine Corps Marathon start and end?
The Marathon of the Monuments will live up to its name for sure.
The USATF-certified course will start in Arlington, Virginia between the National Cemetary and the Pentagon. The course then weaves through Washington D.C. along the Potomac River, past the White House, historic monuments, the seeds of this great Nation, and then circles back to Arlington.
How big is the Marine Corps Marathon?
The MCM was established in 1976 and is currently the fourth-largest marathon in the United States and the ninth-largest in the world.
The event field of 30,000 is composed of runners and rollers from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and more than 50 countries.
How are me and Cameron prepping for the push?
I’m working hard on dropping a few more pounds, lifting for strength, and stamina, as well as pushing hard to make this a competitive success from a wheeled standpoint.
This is Inclusion, Diversity, Advocacy, and an Inspirational trek all rolled into a 26.2 mile nutshell. We’re excited to share this adventure together and with so many others.
